CUDS enjoyed a brilliant start to the new academic year with our Dance Mixer and Open Meeting on Sunday 13th October. We were thrilled to introduce ourselves to the Cambridge Dance scene, and make such a great first step in our goal to improving the connections between dancers in the city. Attendees included the presidents of CUTAZZ and the Cambridge Dancers' Club, as well as Daniel Cosette, the co-founder of Infusion Physical Theatre, representatives of the Irish Dance Club, English and Scottish folk dance and the newly formed Bollywood Dance Troupe, and new university students keen to find out more about dance!
Supplied by snacks and soft drinks, the CUDS committee led an open meeting, discussing the process of rebuilding the society, our hopes for the future, and potential opportunities in terms of collaborative events and financial support. Attendees were entertained by wonderful performances by Natalie Tan and Stephanie Cheung, dancers and choreographers from the Cambridge University Dance Competition Team, and the mesmerising Bachata duo of Veronica and Bryan (check out our Societies page to find out about the classes they run in Cambridge!)
It was fantastic to meet so many new faces, and excited for what looks to be a very promising Autumn term for CUDS!
COMING NEXT: Workshop with Zenaida Yanowsky (former Royal Ballet Principal), Sunday 20th October, 3-6pm.
