For our first workshop of the year we were delighted to have Zenaida Yanowsky, former principal of the Royal Ballet in Cambridge in celebration of World Ballet Day. She began by leading an intermediate workshop for a group of 20 dancers, which we hope everyone gained a lot of knowledge from. We then had two advanced dancers, Vera and Attilla, each work one on one with Zenaida on a variation each. It was fascinating to hear more detail, particularly on the artistic quality of each movement and the contrast between the Sleeping Beauty and Bluebird variations was lovely to see. We ended the afternoon with a Q&A where we got to hear more about Zenaida's life and her experience in the ballet world and the challenges she's faced and overcome. It was such an honour to learn from Zenaida and we are hugely grateful to her, as well as to all our participants for coming along!
